I've always felt like an outsider to the world. In this one, I'm not!

I make art that's strange, confronting, and occasionally makes people do a double take. Bold colour, normal bodies, complex emotion dressed up as chaos. My illustration explores mischief, trauma, and the nonsense of being human because sometimes the only way to process the heavy stuff is to make it a little bit odd.

I started my career as a Graphic Design apprentice in a printing shop, then onto a marketing apprenticeship in publishing and education. Learnt that design is never just decoration, it is meant to make people feel something before they've read a single word.

Since then there’s been a move halfway across the world and I've been freelancing across graphic design, branding, illustration, murals, and print, working with small businesses, helping things look like someone actually gave a...

By day I build brands, by night I'm deep in commissions, collaborations, and whatever strange little world my sketchbook is currently living in.

Megmayo is bold lines, colours that probably shouldn't work together, and work that leans into play, mess, and a bit of mischief. I believe design and art should make you feel something because what's the point if it looks like everyone else's?
