Why do I do what I do?

I’m Meg — illustrator, designer, and full-time creative since 2025.

I work for myself now, which means more time where it matters: with my clients, my art, and the things that actually light a fire under me. I help small businesses look sharp, feel confident, and stand out.

Art’s always been my constant. It’s the thing I come back to when everything else gets noisy. For me, drawing feels like scratching an itch you can’t quite explain. Like finishing a thought you didn’t know you were having.

You might know me as Megmayo — the name behind a growing pile of strange little characters, bold lines, and colour that probably shouldn’t work together (but somehow does). My work leans into play, mess, and a bit of mischief. It’s not that deep, until it is.

By day, I’m building brands, running social media accounts, and helping people communicate clearly (and cleverly). By night, I’m deep in commissions, collaborations, and creating visuals for a UK record label.

I landed in New Zealand in 2023, and I’ve been plugging into the creative scene here, bringing my work to new walls, hands, and projects.
